How we do it

Financial success isn’t about how much money you have, but being able to enjoy life to the full.

The Flying Colours way of working

Organising your finances is extremely important to you, and that’s why we believe it starts with us getting to know you; understanding your needs and objectives and you getting to know us. The advisers have a wealth of knowledge and experience and through this process, they will build a financial plan that is right for you.

Step 1 - Introducing you to Flying Colours

It all starts with a conversation, as a prospective client you will talk to our contact team who will match you with a local financial adviser and will put you in contact with them to have a no obligation meeting at no cost to yourself.

Step 2 - Getting to know you

We begin by spending time getting to know you, your family and your aspirations. During this first phase of the process, it is important that we uncover as much information as possible; we want to understand what motivates and drives your success, your principles about money, what money you have now and may have in the future and what you expect to spend.

We also want to ensure you fully understand what you can expect from us, what we will deliver back to you and how we will become your trusted adviser.

It is often a process of discovery; it will trigger more emotive thoughts and if you’re not already sure of what you want or can achieve, we’ll help you to identify your needs, goals and objectives. Everything that emerges is important and often helps us to see the broader picture of your financial future, and to prioritise financial decisions.

Step 3 - Plan Creation

Having identified with you what your personal needs and objectives are, your adviser will work with our inhouse team of experts to complete a detailed analysis of your situation. We use a range of financial modelling tools to make sense of your requirements and forecast what type of future you can either have now or work toward. We also complete in depth research into any existing plans or products you may have.

The result is a bespoke financial plan that offers you a holistic approach to your future. It will give you increased confidence and peace of mind, it also makes it much more likely that you can achieve your goals. This enables you to make fully informed decisions about going forward.

We believe that working to a plan is essential for your financial success and the financial lifestyle you want and deserve.

We will work with you every step of the way.

Step 4 - Implementation

We will meet you again to go through your individual plan, it’s a great opportunity to really quiz your adviser and understand what our recommendations mean for your circumstances and objectives and how they can be implemented. We will work closely with you to fine-tune any remaining details. We want to ensure you are comfortable with the strategy before we put your plan into practice.

If you are happy to proceed, we will begin building the financial architecture that supports your personal plan. This may involve changing investments or taking simple but highly effective steps such as putting assets into a trust. Here we can draw on a wide range of specialists, using the resources of both Flying Colours and other carefully selected investment managers and advisers.

Step 5 - With you on your journey

Your circumstances will not remain unchanged, life happens and disrupts things once in a while. Your financial plan needs to grow and change with you, as your financial situation and needs evolve over the years. Monitoring and reviewing your personal circumstances is central to our service and helps to ensure you remain on track to achieve your goals and ambitions over time.
