Outside of work he is married to Clare, has a daughter called Abigail and a son named Jack. David has many interests outside of work including youth football, running and he also enjoys the occasional round of golf and he is also a keen charity fundraiser and he ran the London Marathon in 2018.
At Flying Colours we select the advisers to join us and work under the Flying Colours name. They have to go through several levels of assessment, due diligence, client servicing history and financial background checking as part of our stringent approval process. This ensures that you always get the highest standard of service from our advisers.
Late 2019 I decided to move an old Company Pension from a guaranteed benefits scheme to an individual pension scheme.
Because of the surrender value of the company pension, I had to follow government rules which started with using the website unbiased.co.uk to identify an approved Independent Financial Advisor and this brought up David Moteane of Flying Colours as being local & suitable qualified/experienced. After carrying out precautionary checks on his employers, I submitted my request and David responded very quickly with an introductory call explaining who he was, his & Flying Colours background and experience, and why they were not only suited, but also approved to investigate & if suitable carry out my request.
I say ‘if suitable’, as although the request sounds simple, there is a lot of legislation in place to help protect people from making the wrong choice. To help me with this David made home visits to explain every step in detail and gather information to support my request. He took the time & effort to make sure that I understood the reasoning behind each of the step on the process, whilst ensuring that I understood all the risks, and was happy to continue. Also he highlighted that I could withdraw my application at any time I wanted to if I felt concerned.
One of the big issues that I had was that the surrender figure would expire some 2 months after my initial contact with David, so time was of the essence and David not only understood that, but was very proactive in progressing the application through all departments. This allowed up to complete everything within the tight dead-line for which I am immensely grateful especially as it was the Holiday period.
David and Flying Colours were also able to carry out all the effort in identifying a suitable recipient Pension plan for me with one of the bigger household named providers, setting that up for me, and managing the transfer of funds between the two schemes. Along the way I received regular updates on the progress.
I would, without hesitation, recommend David & Flying Colours to anyone looking for Pension advice.
