Get to know Les

I’m the founder, director, and lifestyle financial planner of Essentially Financial. When I established the firm back in 2010, my vision was to guide people along their lifetime journey as their financial planning partner. I strongly believe that establishing and quantifying individual objectives are the solid cornerstones of the financial planning process.

It’s not about product, performance, or flavour of the month, but understanding where people want to be and where they are now, and helping them reach their destination.

My extensive knowledge and experience of some thirty years provides you with the security and knowledge that you are always heading in the right direction, taking alternative actions as needs be.

At the end of 2018, and as part of a longer-term succession plan, Essentially Financial became part of the Flying Colours network to offer wider support to clients, whilst enhancing and maintaining its independence.

Outside of work

I live in Pinner with my wife Caroline, Cinnamon the cat, and Bailey the Yorkshire terrier. Away from the office, I’m a motorsport nut, play golf badly, am a malt whisky lover, a James Bond and Sweeney fanatic, and a long-suffering West Ham United fan.

What do you love about Flying Colours?
It's a very well-structured operation. In particular, Flying Colours has a well-managed centralised investment proposition. With its scale, depth of experience and day-to-day management, this is unique within advisory firms.
Absolute loves
Motor racing and malt whisky. Oh, and my family of course!
Pet hates
Time-wasters.
